David
Head PASTOR
My name is David Chirban (CHUR-bin). To be sure, the last name is an odd one, but I blame that on my Greek grandfather, who came to America from "the old country." When he joined the military, they didn't think our family name (then spelled Tsirbas) was very pronounceable, so they had him change it, unfortunately to something else that isn't easily pronounced.
I grew up in a Christian home, going to church consistently, and when I was about 12, decided to follow Jesus myself. As a pre-teen, I figured if I was going to follow Jesus, I really should know what's in the Bible, so I began reading. That began a lifelong obsession with knowing what is in the Book. As I went through college, there were several "religion" courses offered and I took anything and everything I could. After graduating, I went on to receive a Masters in Theological Studies. Since 2003, I have attended Christian Fellowship. Since 2005, I have served as pastor and love having people join with me in delving a bit deeper in the study of God's word.
If you've never been to Christian Fellowship before, what makes it unique is it's starting point, perhaps more than anything else. Starting out as a home-church, Christian Fellowship continues today as a non-traditional church, whose emphasis is not ritual but community and a personal relationship with God. As a non-denominational church, we find ourselves with significant diversity, as people come from churches such as Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ, and other churches to join in worshiping God.
